First, we want to extend our thoughts to all organizations and their families during COVID-19. We hope all are staying safe and wanted to say Thank You to those personnel who continue to be on the frontlines of our nation’s defense through these challenging times. 100% of Praescient’s staff is considered Mission Essential and continues our critical work alongside our government partners.
We would like to extend our gratitude to those outside of our industry as well – those emergency response personnel, medical staff, essential services personnel, and the countless people who are courageously supporting the health and welfare of their communities – whether that be bravely providing hands on needs or staying confined at home during these uncertain times to stop the spread.
Every business in the US has been affected by the recent outbreak of COVID-19. Restaurants, banks, and retail store locations have a massive decrease in activity, and many locations have closed in response to COVID-19 measures in support of social distancing in order to flatten the curve of this pandemic. Major events including conferences, panels, and industry days have also been cancelled or converted to teleworking events to prevent further exposure to employees, even in critical government and government-adjacent contracting industries. How has Praescient Analytics adapted to these changes?
The CDC’s interim guide for business recommends that employees take allocated sick days, perform routine office cleaning, or implement flexible working arrangements. Praescient has opted to adopt the latter of these measures, supporting a fully remote office experience while these federal recommendations are in effect. Praescient team members are working diligently from their home workspaces in order to provide mission support to a variety of clients and support a broad spectrum of OSINT projects through frequent teleconferences and cloud sharing documentation.
Culturally, Praescient strives to continue our collaborative, open-door working environment and has adjusted quickly to remote, yet social, work. This includes shifting to online collaboration environments, video chats, telecons, and innovative multi-media environments where we’re updating presentations and research in near real-time. Additionally, Team Praescient wants to ensure that health and morale is addressed during the instability of COVID-19 – reaching out to for mental health check-ins, making sure that parents with children at home know we understand the unique challenge of becoming teachers and working professionals, and even sharing pictures of our new home workspaces (featured below and on our Instagram).
We remain focused on the important missions we support, and are even more impressed by the amazing people who make Praescient a unique place to work. Many have argued that the future of work could be remote, significantly decreasing costs of travel, real estate, and operations, while increasing productivity. We are encouraged by the resilience of our team and our partners, and look forward to seeing the long term impacts of COVID-19 and how we operate as a workforce, and as a nation.
Thankfully, Praescient’s team has thus far remained virus-free, but the CDC does warn that a majority of the population will be exposed to this new strain of coronavirus. We are taking all necessary measures to promote a healthy team environment, and we thank public service workers tackling the issue of the outbreak. Praescient continues to serve our government partners and balancing those requirements with taking care of our nation’s most important asset: our employees and their families. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay home.
