When I think back on my 16 months with the company, one word comes to mind—growth. I interviewed with Praescient in September of 2011 shortly after we had acquired our office space in Alexandria, VA. Back then, we were a little start up with all of 25 employees. I remember walking into the office and seeing one desk and a handful of chairs. What the physical space on that day lacked, the vision and mission more than made up for. I had spent the previous two years teaching within DC Public Schools as a DC Teaching Fellow. Further proof that Praescient doesn’t have cookie cutter hiring guidelines. I jumped at the chance to join an organization that had such a powerful mission set, as well as the opportunity to join a dynamic team filled with smart people.
Next week, we will welcome our next group of new hires. It has been quite an experience growing this quickly and it is something that instills us with great pride. It’s amazing to think that we’re already researching the purchase of additional office space!
