We’re honored to have advanced to the Elite Eight of the U.S Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes Small Business Tournament of Veteran Champions. The competition is seeking to crown a champion and identify the most veteran friendly small business in America. Both members of the Praescient team and friends of the company have been voting each day in hopes of seeing Praescient advance to the Final Four on Friday May 17th. We believe we have all of the necessary ingredients for a deep tournament run: great leadership, a lot of talented players, and outstanding chemistry. As a Veteran Owned Small Business, 67% of our team is comprised of veterans. In fact, we will be hiring four more veterans on Monday when our next training cohort kicks off. This will boost our total of veterans on the team to over 100.
Why vote for us? I can give you a few reasons: Veterans form the backbone of our organization. We hired 64 veterans in 2012, and our goal is to exceed that mark in 2013. Many of our veterans join us straight from the military. We believe that we’re able to ensure a smooth transition, and we are aided by the fact that so many of our current employees have gone through the same process. Praescient has an industry-leading benefits package that includes full medical, vision, and dental insurance (company paid premiums and deductibles!) to back up the belief that our employees come first. We also provide a tuition reimbursement program, a training stipend, and a book allowance. We offer an additional two weeks Paid Time Off so that our Reservists can meet their commitments while not having to take unpaid leave. We subscribe to the notion that when you join Praescient, you’re joining a team. We want folks that want to have an enduring relationship with their employer. These are just a few of the many reasons why Praescient is the most veteran-friendly small business in America. Visit the tournament website for more details and vote Praescient!
