Praescient officially launched the International Counterterrorism and Countering Violent Extremism Capacity-Building Clearinghouse Mechanism (ICCM) at the Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) Coordinating Committee Meeting and the United Nations Ministerial Meeting, held in New York City in September 2016. As part of the Creative Associates International (CAI) implementing team, Praescient supported the presentation of a live demonstration of the ICCM web application in front of counterterrorism coordinators representing GCTF member countries.
The ICCM, announced by the White House and State Department in September 2015, will allow the global community to share civilian-led counterterrorism (CT) and countering violent extremism (CVE) initiatives in order to coordinate their efforts more effectively. Over the past nine months, Praescient and partner Park Advisors have been hard at work collecting CT/CVE data, creating a comprehensive data taxonomy, and designing a web application that allows users to perform gap analysis and create interactive visualizations.
We are proud to unveil the ICCM application, which is now available to select members of the GCTF community. Over the next year of this pilot project, the implementing team will continue collecting programmatic data, improving the interface, and performing innovative analysis that will lead to smarter counterterrorism programming in the future.
